A highly regarded landscape painter, Janie lives in regional Victoria and is constantly inspired by the beautiful lush landscape of South Gippsland. With a diverse range of works in a variety of media, including charcoal, acrylic and oils, she has exhibited at numerous galleries across Australia. A Fine Arts trained practitioner, Janie has taught Secondary and Primary School children for over 20 years. Currently Janie runs Art Blast Studio where budding young artists explore their creativity and experience the various techniques of art making.
After completing an Advanced Diploma in Illustration a few years ago, Janie continues to collaborate with Judith Barker to illustrate the Woodslane Press series of phoneme children’s story books, an aid in developing literacy. The first book in the series (The OO in Uluru) received the 2019 Speech Pathology book of the year award and The EE in the Deep Blue Sea was shortlisted for the 2021 award.
